The knee utilizes a polycentric linkage system (four-bar or five-bar mechanism) that creates a geometric locking effect when the prosthesis is loaded. During the stance phase, the linkage structure stabilizes the knee and prevents unintended flexion, enhancing safety and balance.
The internal pneumatic cylinder provides air-based resistance to control knee flexion and extension during the swing phase. This system regulates the swing speed and enables smoother, more natural leg movement.
The multi-axis linkage design simulates the biomechanics of the human knee joint. It shortens the effective limb length during swing phase, improving toe clearance and reducing the risk of tripping.
When the prosthetic foot contacts the ground and bears weight, the geometric linkage system automatically creates a locking effect, stabilizing the knee joint and preventing accidental buckling.
